Together with the Rose Walk and the Rose Run, these two streets are the borders of what is commonly referred to as the Rose Quarter where most of the 'better' brothels are to be found.

The street that bisects the rose quarter is called the Thorn Walk and connects to the Canal of the Shrike and the Canal of the Frigate at small docks.
