The History of the House of Norello began long before the year 257 KR when they were officially recognized by the King of Kel Arn

The Arms of the House of Norello, a Golden Sun in splendor against a black field, is a point of gossip amongst the royal court. It is said that long ago, when the humans were just first expanding into the lands that would become known as the Marches, the King of Kel Arn found himself in love with a woman from one of the Northland Tribes. The King and his army were scouting the Silver river beyond the Grey Islands and when he returned he brought with him a bastard son. Unable to place him within the line of succession for the throne of Kel Arn, he fostered the boy to the east - at an outpost along the Black River which would become known as the city of Kingsbridge.

When the boy grew to manhood, his father awarded him Kingsbridge (a town at the time) and the lands surrounding it as a March. This allowed the King to ensure the loyalty of an eastern colony, keep his bastard son away from the capital and the politics of the court and provide for his illegitimate heir.

When the boy married he chose the name 'Norello' and the golden sun for his heraldry to reflect the truth of his parentage.
