The Stone Owl knwon as Bethyr is a wondrous figure created by the Solonari Wizard, known only as Ambrodel. The figure was given the name "Bethyr" (beth-EER) which is written in Solonari script upon the base. Bethyr means 'message' in Solanari.
Discovery[]
Kyson discovers the stone owl in the spider cave west of the town of Thornhaven while on a journey with his friends. The figurine was on the cave floor near some rotted humanoid remains amongst the spider's webs and would have remained hidden were it not for the reactive flash of light Kyson saw when he cast his own light spell.
Appearance[]
The Stone Owl, when found by the apprentice Kyson , was three inches in length and approximately an inch across at its base. The stone was dirty and unremarkable but flashed with a white light when he cast a light spell in the Cave of Spiders.
The figurine is carved from a uncommon magical stone that is worked by almost every race who has knowledge of arcane magic. Amongst the dwarves the name is translated as 'Milk Stone'. Amongst the Sylvanari it is called 'Snow Stone' but it was most widely used by the Solonari who built their capital city of Solonar from the stone. To them it was Lumali, Light Stone.

The enchantments laid upon it, as Kyson saw when he opened his arcane sight, are that of a Wondrous Figure .

Phase 1[]
- Messenger When the name is spoken, the small figuring transforms into a pure-white, barn owl with glowing blue eyes named 'Bethyr'. As a wondrous figurine, Bethyr was created to carry messages between Ambrodel and others.
- Warning: The owl statue will emit a series of loud owl hoots when Kyson is in danger. It is the first hint that there is an intelligence within the stone that watches over its keeper.
Phase 2[]
- Stone: When Bethyr is summoned for the first time by Kyson, she will have, held in her claw, a Lexichron chrystal.
Use in Fiction[]
Bethyr is a messenger; a construct that can be summoned to carry a message or a small item from person to person within a short distance.
